BACCII welcomes MOA signing with Convergence

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc (BACCII), the leading proponent and voice of the business sector in the province, headed by its President, Mr. Orly dela Pena, welcomes the province-wide installation of the underground backbone, distribution and last mile aerial pure fiber optic cable project, which according to him, will boost business production in Bataan.

Dela Pena, in an interview said that the recent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Provincial Government of Bataan, represented by Governor Abet Garcia and Convergence ICT for faster internet connection, is one important factor that all businessmen has been looking forward to because all business transactions and dealings nowadays are made online. A faster internet connection, Mr. Dela Pena added, will create more social structures that will provide social entities, enhancing the business world.

Convergence ICT CEO Dennis Uy said that they will be putting up 160km fiber optic cable in the whole province along national highways and national roads. With this development, Uy vouched that even the isolated barangays will now be connected in the commercial centers of the province.

Stakeholders on the MOA signing includes non-governmental organization (NGOs) like BACCII, the academe, representatives from other government offices/agencies.
