The Province of Bataan has clinched a Silver Anvil Award for its Baka1Bataan: Mangrove Adoption and Protection Program at the 61st Anvil Awards, recognizing the initiative’s excellence in Public Relations Programs and Sustainability Communication. The award was conferred on January 28 at Solaire North in Quezon City.
Governor Joet Garcia said the recognition from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) affirms Bataan’s strong commitment to advancing environmental stewardship through programs designed to deliver long-term benefits to communities and ecosystems across the province.
Launched in 2023, Baka1Bataan focuses on mangrove conservation and coastal protection, highlighting sustainability as a cornerstone of provincial development. The program underscores how strategic communication can amplify environmental action and public participation.
The provincial government also acknowledged its private-sector partners, GN Power Mariveles Energy Center, Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GN Power Dinginin, Ltd. Co. (GNPD), for adopting and protecting more than 25 hectares of mangroves in the towns of Orani and Samal, reinforcing a collaborative approach to climate resilience and biodiversity protection.
