Basic orientation seminar, federalism forum and mass oath taking

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – House Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez led local officials of Bataan headed by Governor Abet Garcia, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Congresswoman Geraldine Roman (1st district) and Congressman Joet Garcia (2nd district), in the mass oath taking in the PDP Laban party held at Vista Mall, this City.

More than 4,000 LGU officials from the mayors, down to the barangay officials occupied the entire ground floor and second floor of the mall for the Basic Orientation Seminar and Federalism forum before the mass oath taking.

In his welcome remarks, Governor Abet Garcia emphasized the unified support of the Bataan officials to President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Governor extended his gratitude to the present administration under President Duterte with the help of Congress in their effort to give the Filipino people the much needed free college education and free irrigation services to our farmers.

Governor Abet added that with the “build, build, build” program of the President, more investments and employments in Bataan were enhanced leading to the progress of the province and the country as well.

Congresswoman Geraldine Roman on the other hand, said that she transferred to the PDP Laban party to support President Duterte, because she believes that the success of the President is the success of the people.

She added that the warm welcome she received from the party especially with Speaker Alvarez, joining her in the different PDP Laban caravan in other parts of the country, have given her the bigger picture that the President, thru the PDP Laban, does not only fight for the equality of every Filipino but will bring progress to the remotest barrio/provinces in our country.

While Congressman Joet Garcia thanked Speaker Alvarez and his colleagues in Congress, he said that although he is only more than one year in Congress, all his priority bills for the province of Bataan have been approved.

More importantly according to Congressman Joet, the upgrading of the Bataan General Hospital into a 500 bed capacity and into a medical and training hospital, with the volume of workers and establishments in the province particularly the economic zones, have contributed for Bataan to be the province with the lowest poverty rate in the country (1.6%).

To enhance further the performance of the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), the house bill on the the new special economic zone for the Defense Industry in the government arsenal in Limay has also been approved; while the nationalizing of the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) which helps in the coordination of other agencies to be under the office of the President, is now on its 2nd and 3rd reading, which according to Congressman Joet, will be supported by Speaker Alvarez, and last, the establishment of Bataan Science High School and the Bataan High School for the Arts, have been passed by Congress and the Senate.
