Bataan aims to be the 1st province to have a one-stop-shop with one system

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – This is how Governor Abet Garcia would like to realize the government center – a one stop shop with one system. The Governor said that it will now be easier for our people to transact business in one roof, wherein all agencies will be operating in one system.

Once operational, Bataan will be the first province in the country to have a government center utilizing the One System scheme, a cross-agency information and services that will conveniently best serve the people of Bataan.

During his recent trip to Singapore, the governor and his entourage met with the officials of VFS Global, a commercial entity working in partnership and outsourcing technology specialist for the government to have a firsthand information and forged a memorandum, on digital showcase, a state of the art technology which will be used at The Bunker to facilitate smoothly all the information needed in One System while transacting business with the different agencies.

According to Governor Garcia, the very purpose of the government center is to converge all agencies particularly national agencies like, DFA, DOLE, NBI, DTI and other most frequented and most transacted agencies to be under one roof. Likewise, he is also thinking of a solution on how the people can transact business conveniently with the different agencies using the scheme, thus, save time, effort and money.

The Governor stressed that instead of people filling-out so many forms with the different agencies, “why not have an online communication platform wherein you only fill-out one form and that will serve for all agencies you are transacting with?” this not only hastens but more importantly, shortens government transaction.

This way, Garcia added “gradually we are teaching our people to globally communicate that they can now access timely and relevant information to transact with government agencies, subscribe to government services, that through online communications, they can get a driver’s license, pay taxes and others.

This project can be done through a Public-Private-Partnership or via “return of investment” so as not to burden the government coffer.

Governor Garcia also said that there are already people studying current business transactions that entail people going from one agency to another, filling-out different forms, travelling via jeepneys and tricycles, quantifying time and expenses, so as to fully understand the process, document it and hopefully put it in a data base under one system.
