CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan – Thru the leadership of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office of Bataan (PCEDO), Bataan coops nabbed various awards in the recently concluded Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) regional and national Gawad Parangal 2016 held at Royce Hotel & Casino, M.A. Roxas Highway corner N. Aquino Ave., Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga last July 18, and Makati Shangri-La, Manila, last Oct. 26 this year respectively.
For the regional level, first time participant Mariveles High School Teachers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) won the Most Outstanding Cooperative award in the micro scale category, while Cupang West Multi-Purpose Cooperative was hailed as the Most Outstanding Cooperative in the small scale category making its mark as one of the Region III’s finest cooperatives.
Also, Watchlife Workers Multi-Purpose Cooperative bagged another Most Outstanding Cooperative award for medium scale category that has been consistently making its mark as one of the top performing cooperative in the region and nationwide. In 2015, it bested all other cooperatives while it was still under the small scale group. Since its upgrade to the medium category in 2014, the cooperative has been ruling the contest for three years now.
Joining the list, Bataan Cooperative Development Council (BCDC) maintained its hold as the Best Performing Provincial Cooperative Development Council in Region III, and IWAHORI Multi-Purpose Cooperative added to its row of plaques and awards the Most Outstanding Cooperative for the large scale category asserting its consistent excellence as a cooperative.
These coops served as the primary contender of the region in CDA’s national search for outstanding cooperatives, which some of them once again, victoriously bagged the award.
Watchlife Workers Multi-Purpose Cooperative brought home the Hall of Fame Award and 1st Place Most Outstanding Primary Cooperative for Medium Category while Iwahori Multi-Purpose Cooperative received the Special Citation for Remarkable Partnership and Solidarity Program.
Completing the list, Bataan Cooperative Development Council accepted the 3rd Place Best Performing Cooperative Development Council in the said awards night.
