BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Farmers from towns of Bataan underwent season-long Palay Check Farmer Field School training.
One way of educating farmers on rice production technologies is through the conduct of Palay Check Farmers Field School, said Provincial Agriculture Office.
“The mass graduation of farmers who finished the training was held in Balanga City on Monday”, said Board Member Benjie Serrano, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, who personally attended the graduation.
Farmers who graduated are from Lati, Orion; Wawa, Pilar; Salian, Abucay; San Juan, Samal; Balsik, Hermosa; and Pentor, San Ramon, and Sapang Balas, in Dinalupihan.
“The technologies they learned from Palay Check Farmer Field School training will help them improve rice production”, said the board member.
“The contributions of farmers are vital to the attainment of sustainable agriculture in the province, which is the thrust of Gov. Garcia”, he added.
The graduation was also attended by former board member Guding Ferrer who represented the governor, Provincial Agriculturist-OIC Joey Dizon, and representatives from other agriculture offices.
