CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – In line with its vision of attaining the highest human development index in the country, the Provincial Government of Bataan inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Bataan General Hospital (BGH) yesterday, November 8, 2018 at the BGH Conference Room, this City.
League of Mayors President and Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia and BGH Medical Center Chief Dra. Glory V. Baltazar led the MOA signing together with Mariveles Mayor Ace Concepcion, Orion Mayor Antonio Raymundo, Samal Mayor Gene Dela Fuente, Abucay Vice Mayor Cristine Dela Fuente, Municipal Health Officers from the different municipalities and medical specialists of BGH.
Under the agreement, Bataan will be implementing a unified health system utilizing the Service Delivery Network (SDN) of the BGH, the purpose of which is to provide fast, efficient and effective medical attention to the priority group of patients.
Dr. Baltazar explained that through the SDN, district hospitals, rural health units and even barangay health centers can refer patients to BGH through the system so that upon arriving at BGH, said patient will be attended to at once.
“If this SDN will be efficient, it will be another milestone for us because to date, there is no reported efficient SDN in the Philippines,” said Governor Abet Garcia.
In responding to some concerns regarding the sustainability and success of the system, the local chief executives gave their all out support. Dr. Baltazar added that BGH will shoulder the salary of two (2) doctors per municipality for one year.
To date, Bataan General Hospital Medical Center is the only level 3 tertiary government hospital in Bataan.
