BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has proposed for the installation of smart or intelligent streetlights along the 68 kilometer stretch of Roman Expressway and the provincial capitol compound which is expected in few years would methodically develop into a progressive business center.
One of the priority projects of Governor Garcia which is included in the master list under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the people and investment mode would further hasten the eco-industrial success of Bataan.
The local government is making headway on the infrastructure front as it continuous to espouse its investment priorities by providing locators more effective incentives to build their manufacturing plants in the seven geographically located Special Economic Zones in Bataan.
Part of Bataan’s sustainable development strategy is to bring together all stakeholders and bond their aspirations into a collective vision to have the lowest poverty incidence resulting from quality growth in 2020.
According to Governor Garcia the setting-up of streetlights in the province’s main thoroughfare is another impressive infrastructure component facilities interconnecting industrial growth areas of the province: the Freeport Area of Bataan(FAB); Petron Bataan Refinery – the largest oil refinery in the country; the Philippines first petrochemical park; Special Economic Defense Zone and Hermosa Special Economic Zone.
Governor Garcia reiterated the Bataan Expressway connects the province to the rest of Luzon with the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and the Olongapo –Gapan, Nueva Ecija road which is fast becoming a premier route for travel and tourism industry.
He explained that the same streetlights amenities are essential for the development of the capitol compound, in the heart of the province with a 10-hectare state owned land, which will be converted into a mixed-use government hub with commercial establishments, hotels, and business processing outsourcing offices .
The streetlights project is absolutely indicative of the local government’s long-range strategic plan of exploring essential corporate opportunities which would amplify the awareness of the investors of the highly-diversified economic scheme in Bataan.
