Bataan youth shooters shine at SEA Games 2025 in Thailand

Bataan made a strong mark in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, with young athletes delivering standout performances in the shooting events, according to an update from Bataan First District Rep. Tony Roman III. The province’s showing underscored its growing presence in regional sports competition, particularly in practical shooting.

Seventeen-year-old Erin Mattea Micor of Orani captured a gold medal in the Women’s Open Individual category of practical shooting, emerging as one of the youngest champions in the event. Her victory boosted the Philippines’ medal campaign in the Southeast Asian Games and highlighted Bataan’s contribution to the national contingent.

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Carlin Pizarro of Pilar placed fourth in the Standard Lady Division, narrowly missing the podium but earning recognition as the youngest shooter to finish the event in her category. Rep. Roman said both athletes exemplify the depth of young talent in Bataan, pointing to a promising future for the province in competitive sports.
