In compliance to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to facilitate the granting of assistance to repatriated OFWs especially during this time of pandemic, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator for Reintegration Faustino Sabarez III, and OWWA Deputy Administrator for Advocacy and Communications Affairs Mocha Uson awarded educational and livelihood assistance to qualified beneficiaries in simple ceremonies held last June 23 at CampTolentino, Balanga City.
A total of 14 Bataenos were given livelihood assistance, 10 received scholarships, five (5) were given medical assistance, and one OFW-Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) passer was given a permanent position in a public school here in Bataan through the “Sa Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” (SPIMS) program. CAMAYA OFW Family Circle received livelihood assistance as well through the “Livelihood Development Assistance Program” (LDAP).
Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA), PESO-Bataan, Balanga City Peso Office, the 11 PESO Municipal Offices in the province, and the Provincial Government of Bataan received commendation certificates for extending help to the repatriated OFWs during this pandemic.
Vice Governor Cris Garcia and OWWA RWO-3 OIC-Regional Director Esperanza Cobarrubias attended the event, spearheaded by OWWA-RO3 in coordination with PESO Provincial Office.
