BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Former national police chief Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa takes pride in claiming it was Bataan province where he opted to visit upon assuming the post as PNP chief.
During his second visit to the peninsula province on Thursday for the police assessment of anti-illegal drugs campaign, Dela Rosa reiterated his sincere admiration in the leadership of Garcias, more particularly referring to Bataan Gov. Albert S. Garcia.
“Hindi ko talaga makalimutan ang Bataan sapagkat ito ang una kong pinuntahan sapagkat sabi ng boss ko (President Duterte) puntahan ko daw ang mga Garcia sa Bataan,” said Bato.
The police general now running for senate post was the first police officer who visited the “Bahay Pagbabago” in Barangay Lamao, Limay, Bataan when he assumed as PNP chief.
Bato and Gov. Garcia are one in saying that in preventing crimes, proliferation of illegal drugs must be nipped in the bud.
Garcia said he is personally checking the crime information reporting and analysis system of PNP to monitor local crime rate and serve as basis for interventions.
