“Be somebody’s savior”

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – A successful bloodletting program is on-going today, February 9, at Vista Mall this City, organized by Vice Governor Cris Garcia in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross-Bataan Chapter, Bataan Peninsula Lions Club, and Bataan Medical Society.

It is the 3rd wave of Vice Gov. Cris Garcia’s birthday project for a cause, with the same theme, “Share Blood, Save Lives, Be somebody’s savior”. Have the courage to be a blood donor before it’s too late. I started my first bloodletting birthday project last February. 2, 2015. Since I started donating blood, my immune system got better,” said Vice Gov. Cris Garcia.

Meanwhile, Rjane Baek, Philippines Cross-Bataan Chapter medical technologist said, “Blood donation helps to lower the risk of cancer, maintain healthy heart and liver, reduce body weight of the donors. It is helpful to those who are obese and are at higher risk of cardiovascular diseases and other health disorders.”

“At pag donor ka na, at nangailangan ka ng dugo in the future, you’ll just have to show your donor’s ID at mabibigyan ka na kahit wala kang kasamang donor”, Ms. Ailo Jordan, Philippines Cross-Bataan Chapter volunteer nurse, added.

According to Sah-awan Guzman, Vice-Gov. Cris’ staff, they are expecting 80-100 blood donors today and as of 12noon 31bags of 450 cc blood have been collected.

From the 1Bataan team, a blessed birthday Vice Gov. Cris! More power and continue to be a blessing to others.
