Beauty salons to be regulated

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bataan, passed Ordinance no, 8 series of 2018 regulating the operation and maintenance of beauty salons or similar establishments in the province recently.
Board Member Aris Gaza, Chairman of the Committee on Health sponsored said ordinance which according to him is to protect the general public going to beauty parlors and similar establishments from acts and practices that may compromise their health in the conduct of hair dyeing and other hair related services.
Gaza added that as a matter of health concern, proper hygiene and cleaning or sterilizing of all equipment used in the conduct of the services must be observed in accordance with the standards provided by the law.
BM Gaza also emphasized that there have been reports on the proliferation of suspected fake and adulterated beauty products such as hair dyes, shampoos, lotion, soap and others being sold by unscrupulous individuals victimizing a lot of consumers.
Thus, he likewise added that to protect the people from imminent danger in the use of these harmful products more so to the mishandling, misapplication and negligent acts attributed to responsible persons, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in a duly convened session enacted this Ordinance.
