BIR-Bataan exceeds target collection for 1st quarter

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – BIR Bataan administrative officer, Elmo Espinosa proudly announced in a radio broadcast, that as early as the 1st quarter of 2017, BIR-Bataan has already exceeded their target with SMC’s one-time tax payment of P1.3 Billion, adding their regular collection of P592 M for 3 months vice their tax collections of more or less P7M for the first quarter.

Espinosa said that, true enough that BIR especially their Revenue District Officer, Laura M. Salita, is always looking for collections, that all their staff are always determined and energetic to achieve their goal.

Aside from the traditional way of information dissemination campaign in print and social media, Espinosa guested at Bataan Power radio, a top notch radio station in the province and appealed to taxpayers to pay their taxes on time, to avoid the rush and penalties. He also emphasized that the deadline for filing of ITR has been extended to April 17, 2017 due to the observance of the Holy Week/Lenten Season.

In a more aggressive drive, BIR-Bataan had set up BIR Tax Tulungan Centers in strategic places in the province; one at Galleria Victoria (Balanga), Vista Mall and in 3 big municipalities of Hermosa, Dinalupihan and Limay, relative to the 2017 tax filing season.

RDO Laura Salita also directed her staff manning the tax assistance centers to really have the patience to assist the taxpayers in the computation of the income tax; to clarify all taxpayers’ questions related to their income tax and to constantly remind the taxpayers to file their taxes electronically as mandated by law.

Espinosa on the other hand, said that they’re expecting to collect around P300 M more or less this month.
