Admin. Section Head Elmo Vicente E. Espinosa in a radio interview at 104.5 FM said that they are encouraging the people to pay their taxes through easy, smooth and fast transactions with the BIR.

Mr. Espinosa explained that if before they used to require 12 documents or more for business registration, now its down to only 5 documents same with other transactions, which they’ve even shorten to 2 days (if there are no problems) while the validity of certain issuances like tax clearance and tax exemptions are extended up to 3 years.

Espinosa also said that they’re still actively implementing other BIR programs such running after tax evaders. In fact, they were able to file 112 cases in court, have collected P300M thru OPLAN KANDADO, and their Tax Compliance Verification Drive (mapping).

Stille on their tax collection campaign, they are now going around via mobile sound system to remind the public on the deadline in the payment and filing of their income tax returns, posting of tarpaulins with BIR slogan “Salamat Po” to show their support to business establishments, and the conduct of seminars about the TRAIN or the tax acceleration and inclusion law in the different sectors.
