BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A former three-termer city councilor here is now engaged in carinderia-type eatery located in front of a privately-run college along the Capitol road which he describes as timely and profitable enterprise .
Geodetic Engineer Eduardo Tapan and his wife Remedios, a retired elementary school teacher manage the “Dad’s Kitchen“ which is reaping popularity as a gastronomic haven where a broad range of food choices are available.
Ex-Councilor Tapan has narrated it’s a classic sight to have families and friends, office workers both in government and private sectors, high school and college students, businessmen and visitors during weekdays strolling along the half-kilometer Capitol Road.
Many medium-class entrepreneurs have been utilizing conscious effort in creating sustainable and green communities where people can enjoy a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle in Capitol landscape.
In a related development, Joselito Evangelista, Balanga City treasurer, has noticed the unexpected growth in the number of food kiosks, fast foods and other marketing and retailing shops and other classy restaurants in the component city
He said that businessmen are scheming to shift into quicker formats of food retailing concept to benefit from higher volume turnovers and lower fixed overheads unlike with the normal trading operations.
Reports show that Balanga City is in the list of the top ten (10) emerging cities in the country by the Department of Science and Technology –information and communication technology and business process association of the Philippines.
