Concreting of circumferential road to start second quarter of 2018

ORANI, Bataan – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is scheduled to undertake the concreting of circumferential road worth P 30 million in the upland village of Bangkal, Abucay town, this province.

Engineer Erlindo R. Flores, Jr, Officer-in-Charge of DPWH Bataan 1st Engineering District, said the concreting of the one-kilometer dirt road connecting the upland villages of Abucay and Samal towns would boost agricultural production and faster transport of vegetables and fruits to the market.

Engineer Flores described the road project sponsored by Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman would benefit the indigenous community, students and instructors of the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) agriculture campus and upland farmers.

The completion of the road would provide more accessible and convenient route for the upland farmers and residents to go to Samal and Abucay towns.

About hundreds of hectares of underdeveloped hilly lands in the two municipalities would become productive vegetables and fruits farms with the concreting of the vital road project.

Engineer Flores added the improvement of the road would also generate revenues for the residents since it would help expand the agro-tourism industry with the influx of mountain trekkers and visitors to see the unexplored natural richness of the nearby Bataan National Park.
