Construction of new Abucay municipal building starts next week

ABUCAY, Bataan – Work on the construction of P73 million new municipal hall of Abucay will start anytime next week.
Eng. Ernesto Vergara, municipal administrator, said all systems go for the construction of two-story building located in front of public market along the MacArthur Highway where groundbreaking ceremonies were held last December 8.
He said the municipal government appropriated P33 million for the project; P20 million given by Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia; and another P20 million from Sen. Cynthia Villar.
Public bidding for the project had been arranged after a publication of the announcement in the national newspaper, Vergara said. Qualified local contractors may bid for the project, he said.
The old municipal building will be renovated and converted into a public library and museum.
