BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataan Peninsula State University’s (BPSU) student organization, CSI : Earth, addressed the recurring issues on waste management and discussed action plans with Sangguniang Kabataan, city officials, barangay representatives and student leaders during the Environmental Leadership Workshop held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Balanga City Hall. The main advocacy of the organization is to Care, Save and Immortalize Earth.
Using new technologies and innovations exhibited yesterday at Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga, CSI: Earth believes wastes can be converted to something useful and save the environment. CSI: Earth Organization Adviser and BPSU Engineering Instructor Engr. Gil Cruz Jr. said they will bring the prototype machines today for demonstration in their coastal clean up in Barangay Tortugas.
“Magtulong tulong tayo para palakasin ang programa natin for the environment.” (Let’s work together to reinforce our programs for the environment) Engr. Cruz told the participants.
CSI : Earth, on its 10th year anniversary, is now conducting Project 1.5 in which they aim to be part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) endeavor to limit the overall temperature increase of the planet to 1.5 degrees Celsius. On their last phase of the project they are holding a 2-day event “Hack the Earth” Environmental Innovation Summit 2019 in this city.
