Dangcol residents now use Bataeño Pass for faster barangay services

Residents of Barangay Dangcol in Balanga City now have easier, faster access to barangay services through the Bataeño Pass, launched in the community last Monday, October 20, during their observance of Barangay Week.

The Bataeño Pass is a unified provincial identification system developed by the Provincial Government of Bataan to streamline public-service transactions. It provides residents with a single and secure ID, both physical and digital with a QR code linked profile, that can be used across government offices in the province.

In his message during the pilot launching ceremony, Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III emphasized that the initiative is part of the province’s push for efficient, citizen-centered services and stronger data integrity across LGUs.

Complementing the provincial system, the City Government of Balanga, under the leadership of Mayor Raquel Garcia, has integrated its Barangay Governance Information System (BGIS) with the Bataeño Pass. Through BGIS, residents can use their Bataeño Pass card as a single proof of identity to request and receive documents such as Barangay Clearance, Certificate of Residency, and Certificate of Indigency, among others. As of this writing, over 2,000 Dangcol residents already have their Bataeño Pass IDs.

Gov. Garcia said the program will be rolled out province-wide, and residents can expect faster access to government services due to fewer document requirements, shorter queues in offices, especially those pertaining to social services, and a more accurate beneficiary list for financial assistance distribution and government services.
