DepEd Bataan is ISO certified

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In line with its policy to provide quality product and service, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Bataan sets the bar as it received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification on Friday at The Esplanade, Central Atrium Residences in this city.

DepEd Bataan is the first SDO in Region 3 certified with ISO 9001:2015 on Quality Management System following Executive Order No. 605 of 2007 which mandates all government agencies to adopt the ISO standards as part of the implementation of the government-wide quality management program.

ISO certification is an accreditation conducted by an external certifying body to ensure that an organization performs its inter-related processes with international standards.

In the previously held audit by the DQS Philippines, its Managing Director Romy Zamora cited the major strengths of SDO Bataan which had become an edge for it to acquire the said certification.

Zamora commended its comprehensive website that gives a clear view of the organization’s profile, and comprehensive curriculum that includes Indigenous People’s Education.

Additionally, it received Red Orchid Award Tobacco Free Environment, and showed an effective monitoring of Key Performance Indicators such as monitoring of school feeding program, deworming, and Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference and tobacco control.

DepEd Bataan’s journey to becoming a department recognized internationally started in October last year and received the Certification for ISO alignment in December.
