Engr. Yuzon will win your heart and leave you in awe

“To be prepared, consider this day as your last day,” this is the principle that Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) head Engr. Enrico Yuzon holds on to, as he pulls himself up every day and makes sure he does the best he can in everything.

He currently resides in Phase III, Bagong Silang, Balanga City with wife Rosario and three children Rosariane Erica, John Enrico, and John Christopher.

He graduated in Tenejero Elementary School and Bataan National School of Arts and Trade before he finished his degree in Civil Engineering at the National University. However, his schooling didn’t stop there, he also took a master’s degree in Engineering Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and another degree in Business Management at the Saint Francis of Assisi College.

After completing said degrees, he had a series of work experiences at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting off as a watchman, then a construction foreman, civil engineer, engineer II, and engineer III chief of operations section. Then in the DPWH Region 3, he worked as OIC & assistant project manager, OIC chief – planning & design section, and chief of maintenance section. Afterwards, he worked in the City Government of Balanga in the City General Services Office as department head. Then, he transferred to the Provincial Government of Bataan at the Provincial Assessor’s Office as assistant department head, then at the Provincial General Services Office as department head, and finally at the Provincial Engineering Office.

Based on the Local Government Code, some of his duties and responsibilities are: to initiate, review, and recommend changes in policies, plans, procedures in infrastructure development and public works of the provincial government, to provide engineering services to all the local government units concerned.

Engr. Yuzon also has a lot of plans and projects in his plate, the Bataan Government Center and Business Hub (The Bunker), the completion of 1Bataan Command Center, and the provision of Information Technology (IT) ready buildings, are some to name a few plans.

“Sa dami ng ginagawa natin, more on walking na lang sa umaga. Most of the time, na-coconsume yung time ko doon sa pag-aaral at pagtuturo tsaka pag Linggo, sa preaching,” he said when asked what he does aside from work. And little did we know, he is the head Pastor of Jesus is Lord (JIL) in San Jose, Balanga City. Not only that, he also studies Theology in the Truth Theological Seminary and at the same time teaches to students there.

As we got to know him more, we got immersed in his words of wisdom that got deeper as we progressed. “Kung kukunin ka ng Diyos ngayon, payag ka?” he asked us, and of course we said no. “Yan ang sinasabi natin. Pero kung ready ka anytime, wala kang panghihinayangan.” Making sure he lives by his principle, Engr. Yuzon really does make the most out of his daily life and this is with the guidance of his favorite book, the Bible.

When asked on his plans in the next five or ten years of his life, he said “lahat naman ng bagay, Diyos ang nakakaalam, pero ang gusto ko lang five years from now, makapag-retiro at gusto ko talagang mag-fulltime sa ministry.” Though he said it is really God’s plan on where will he be in the near future, if you are willing to find out, just read the Bible. “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth,” as he quote one of the books in the Bible, “mas magtatagumpay kayo 180% pa if makikilala niyo talaga yung Panginoon,” he advised us.

In fact, one of his motivations in going to work is that he will get a chance to win souls and share the word of God, and as we reach the interview’s end, I can say he won us. He won our hearts and left us in awe of his beliefs.
