MARIVELES, Bataan – Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) chairman and administrator Engr. Emmanuel Pineda is enthusiastic on the astonishing performance of the first export processing zone in the country with outstanding record high investments of a total of P 113 billion from 2010 to 2017 out of the registered 125 operational locators.
Engineer Pineda reported the favorable increase of employment rate in Central Luzon including the province where FAB is located, is one of the significant effects of the rise in the number of locators in the FAB to 37,455 workers as of December 2017 from 12,00 in 2011.
With the growing awareness from Asian, European and American capitalists of the magnificent economic agenda including extensive marketing and promotional campaign overseas of the government financial managers, Pineda said locators are driven to invest in FAB which is the only freeport located in Manila Bay area and the country’s center of trade and government.
He said the first export processing built in the early 70’s is ideal for transshipment destination and other port operations since it is strategically located as transit point for domestic, regional and global shipping .
One of the bigger advantages of the FAB is the accessibility to the three international airports in the country situated in Manila, Clark Ecozone in Angeles City and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Chairman Pineda added that about ten (10) infrastructure projects are scheduled to be implemented this year which would hasten the eco-industrial status of FAB as the foremost manufacturing and business district hubs in Central Luzon.
