FAB, the freeport of choice

MARIVEES, Bataan – With its vision to be the Freeport of Choice in the country by 2020, becoming a center of Trade, innovation and sustainable development in Asia, the Freeport Area of Bataan again recorded a high investment with an increase of 532% from P9, 749,650,000.00 in 2010 to P113 B as of July 2017.

According to Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Chairman Emmanuel Pineda, additional investment is noted in the industries of cement wholesale and retail trade, BPO, IT, transportation and transportation equipment, real estate, education, accommodation and food services, wood and metal manufacturing, property development and construction.

The FAB posted the fastest growth rate in investment and employment generation from 2012 to 2017 especially now with the production of world class quality bags, shoes and apparels among others.

Chairman Pineda said that FAB registered 128 locators as of Dec. 2017, while a total of P113 B investment from 2010 to July 2017 has been recorded with a significant increase in the number of locators leveling with an increase in the employment rate, generating 37,455 employees in the freeport as of December 2017.

Having been the beacon of emerging economic centers, AFAB is now the Freeport of choice by investors according to Chairman Pineda not only because of its competitive advantage in its superior location, facilities, natural endowments, business facilitation support system but also due to  its amazing incentives the likes of tax holidays for 4 years extendable to a maximum of 8 years and many more exemptions..
