Firecrackers banned in Hermosa

HERMOSA, Bataan – Don’t make the mistake of selling or using pyrotechnic in Hermosa town this Christmas season or you get a fine or prison term.
The municipal government of Hermosa through its Sangguniang Bayan on May 30, 2018 passed a municipal ordinance prohibiting the manufacture, sale, distribution, possession or use of firecrackers or pyrotechnic devices.
The municipal council presided by Vice Mayor Christopher Vitug, in its ordinance said that “every year significant number of injuries, both severe and mild, caused by firecrackers were reported and recorded by the municipal health office wherein most victims are minors.”
Violation of the said ordinance would mean, for first offense, a fine of P1,000 or imprisonment of one month but not less than 20 days or both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court. In addition, the business establishment’s permit shall be suspended or ita shall be ordered to be closed for three to six months.
For the second offense, a fine of P1,500 or imprisonment or three months. For third offense, a fine of P2,500 or imprisonment of six months shall be imposed.
