Gov. Garcia to discard borders in offices

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Sitting is the new smoking.

This matter urged Governor Albert S. Garcia to push for borderless and agile offices once ‘The Bunker’ is ready.

During the traditional flag ceremony held this morning, Garcia addressed his intent to create a workplace where everyone can move freely considering the fact that sitting for too long is a risk to one’s health.

According to him, amid the progress of smoke-free generation campaign with majority of the municipalities in Bataan now smoke-free, there comes the new cigarette to resolve which is sitting all day.

Moreover, Garcia desires to remove the boundaries of offices so that each floor will have an easy access with one another, promoting unity and fast processes. Once his plan pushes through, it is expected to increase employees’ productivity.

“This is the new design where desks don’t include a too comfy seat… We will design it as agile so that sometimes we can stand, lean, or roam around the floor because we are free from borders,” said Garcia in Filipino.

This is also to assure that all is well informed when there are announcements.

“If we have announcements, we don’t need to wait for flag ceremony anymore… We have PA system (Public Address System) and boards for us we become more cohesive as one big family,” he said.

Conversely, he shared that The Bunker, being the tallest vertical structure in the City of Balanga, gives a wonderful view of Mt. Samat and other mountains, and Manila Bay.
