Historic Balanga Cathedral undergoes scrubbing…and repainting


BALANGA CITY, Bataan – This historic Cathedral right in the heart of Balanga City proper is undergoing a good scrubbing and eventually repainting to sport a new, fresh look come April 28, the Feast of its patron saint, St. Joseph.
This Cathedral used during the Spanish-American war was formally declared as Diocesan Cathedral on March 19, 2015. It was renovated by the First Bishop of the Diocese, Celso N. Guevarra.
During the advent of Bishop Ruperto Santos who was installed on July 8, 2010, some innovations were likewise introduced including the improvement of patio and discouraging the numerous vendors within the Cathedral’s environs.
Pavement of the ground was also made and lately, repainting of the Cathedral.
