MARIVELES , Bataan – Senator Cynthia Villar has proposed for the conversion of idle lands in the historic peninsula into high-value agricultural crops expansion projects with several numbers of foreign and local locators exploring the great possibilities of creating international port terminals and depots with the expansion of manufacturing plants at the Freeport Area of Bataan(FAB) here.
Senator Villar, chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, who spoke on the press conference of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago senatorial campaign caravan held recently at the country’s first export processing zone gymnasium here, has expressed her huge enthusiasm of the latest favorable business development here after learning that investors are scouting for viable sites in the locality for the construction of port terminal services along the coastal villages of this town.
Senator Villar has revealed the timely strategic formulation of agronomic policy to conform with the reports that at least 10 prospective investors are interested to put up oil depots, warehouses, stockpiling of imported materials and other storage facilities in coastal village of Sisiman, Mariveles town, she urged the farming sectors should work for the propagation of high-value crops that would provide healthier income opportunities and ensure continuous supply of agricultural crops to expanding workers.
She pointed out a large section of the 40 kilometers coastline of Mariveles are likely to be develop into eco- industrial sites, ports, recreational,housing facilities and other tourism-oriented projects in few years as locators are cautiously appraising the underlying economic advantages of the country’s first export processing zone because of its highly strategic location.
Reports indicated on the analytic organizational evaluation shows that the higher quality business trust level is primarily credited to Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia’s sound economic policy and investment posture which resulted to profitable corporate environment and peaceful atmosphere.
She added the on-going government agricultural development scheme include the upgrading of farm to market road, irrigation projects, power generation and other public works and infrastructures ,good governance, globally competitive fiscal and non-fiscal tax motivation are positive measures to attract locators in the historic peninsula.
