PILAR, Bataan – “Iyang mapalapit lang natin ang mga tao sa pamahalaan ay isang malaking achievement na para sa akin,” thus said Pilar Mayor Alice D. Pizarro when interviewed by newsmen Wednesday. (Just to keep our constituents close to the government is such a big achievement on my part.)
Mayor Pizarro said she was able to achieve this feat through various peoples organizations in her municipality. These organizations, she said, were able to partake with whatever available fund from the local government through transparent presentation and honest transaction.
“There are available funds intended for this group of not to be tagged as fly-by-night organizations but legitimate ones who are beneficiaries of our program,” Pizarro pointed out.
The said organizations which benefit government assistance have been accredited by the Sangguniang Bayan, said the outgoing Pilar town executive.
Charlie Pizarro, the general manager of Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA), won overwhelmingly as municipal mayor over opponent Joey de Leon in the just concluded mid-term election. Mar Caguimbal was reelected vice mayor of the said municipality.
