Limay employees told to go back to work

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – The regional office of the Civil Service Commission asked on Tuesday the employees of the Limay municipal government to just go back to work.
The 124 employees claimed they were reportedly given “walking papers” by Limay Mayor Ver Roque following the so-called reorganization in the municipal government set-up.
The employees led by Lauro Galicia, of the municipal government’s agricultural center trooped to the regional office of Civil Service Commission to lodge their complaints.
They claimed Roque fired off termination letters to them last February 22. However, they were reportedly offered job openings in private companies.
The regional CSC office could not yet decide on the merit of the case because no one from the municipal government of Limay attended the reconciliation meeting last Tuesday. Not even a written order from CSC was issued to assure them of their status.
The employees were told to go back to work while awaiting Mayor Roque and CSC talk about the case.
