Mariveles to build P19M fish port

MARIVELES, Bataan -This municipality will build a P19M fish port in Barangay Poblacion seen to help the local fishing community.

“The project is already for bidding”, said Office of the Mayor personnel Jaypee Jalos.

“Mayor AJ Concepcion requested the project to the national government to help fisher folks as well as local fish traders” he added.

The mayor together with Councilor Harry Golocan, OIC Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Glady Dacion, and OIC Municipal Agriculturist Marlyn Del Mundo recently went to the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority in Metro Manila for the project.

Golocan is the Sangguniang Bayan Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture.

“Mayor Concepcion wants to make it easy for local fishermen when unloading and selling their catch”, Jalos also said.

He added the municipal government is planning to locate the consignacion to the fish port.

Concepcion, a first time mayor, earlier said that he will not neglect the agricultural development of his town in spite of being a booming industrial hub.

The municipality hosts the Freeport Area of Bataan where manufacturing companies abound.
