DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Mayor Maria Angela S. Garcia of this fast-rising, first-class town led yesterday’s start of “Barangay Day” series in Barangay Tubo-tubo, bringing down the basic services of the municipal government to all 46 villages or barangays.
Other officials who joined the lady mayor were Vice Mayor Renato Matawaran, municipal council members, department heads and their staff, and the Tubo-tubo barangay council led by Punong Barangay Elizalde Evangelista.
Services rendered during this special day for Tubo Tubo residents were dental and medical services along with agricultural, veterinarian, engineering and other basic social services. The local civil registrar was also present to assist some residents with the processing of their birth certificates and other documents.
Garcia added that the municipal budget, accounting and treasury officers also assisted the barangay in the processing and monitoring of their financial records. Personnel from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Bataan) were also there to discuss some business opportunities for residents.
Tubo-tubo with almost 400 residents, mostly belonged to an Aeta tribe, is an agricultural village almost 5 kilometers away from the town proper.
Parehas po ang tingin niya sa amin kulot man o unat,” Barangay Captain Evangelista said.
