MBDA readies programs to make “Undas” safe

BALANGA City, Bataan – The Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) on Wednesday spelled out various programs for motorists and visitors to cemeteries to make Undas safe and peaceful.

MBDA general manager Carlos Pizarro, Jr. said he has beefed up the number of personnel along the major highways who will not only man traffic but also extend assistance to motorists especially along the Roman Expressway. The expressway extends from Layac junction in Dinalupihan to Mariveles town.

“Motor assistance desks composed of personnel from MBDA, PNP, provincial disaster office, (PDRRMO) Rescue and barangay tanod will be set up in major points,” the former Pilar town mayor said. MBDA is under the office of Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia.

Pizarro said they are ready for the influx of motorists from October 30 to November 2. “Auto mechanics of MBDA will be on hand to assist motorists while two ambulances from the provincial office and ambulances from each town will be ready,” he said.

He said that police officers and barangay tanods will be dispatched to various public cemeteries and even private memorial parks to maintain peace and order.
