BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Now that the Dragon Eye Speed Lidar – the actual device to be used in observing the proper speed limits in the province’s highways has finally arrived, days of reckless drivers in the province is now nearly over.

Leading the orientation earlier today were representatives from Smart Guard Philippines (speed lidar supplier) who demonstrated the functions and shared the important know-hows about the device. Also present was Mr. Dave Bautista (Assistant Administrator, NLEX) who is MBDA’s consultant on the trainings of the operation of the speed lidar.

There are currently 2 units of the speed lidar that arrived, and there is still 1 unit to follow. These devices, as explained in the orientation, are water resistant and can be operated during both the day and night. As of now, there is no definite date on when the speed lidar operation will be started. The MBDA will be using the devices only for dry runs around Bataan while waiting for some certifications and for the trainings of the speed lidar operators to be finished.

The orientation was attended by MBDA officials together with MBDA General Manager Mr. Carlos Pizarro Jr. and MIS/PIO head Mr. Geoffrey Loyola.
