ORANI, Bataan – At the helm of Barangay Mulawin, this town, which was awarded of the DILG-patterned Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by Orani LGU, Capt. Marvin Dela Cruz said getting the recognition was far from his mind for he was just doing everything in the name of public service.
“We are just doing our best to serve our constituents here in Mulawin, and we are not expecting an award or anything for our efforts”, pointed out in vernacular by the neophyte barangay captain to local newsmen.
“The barangay governance programs we are implementing are in line with our commitment to genuinely serve Mulawin folks”, he also said.
“In every aspect of barangay governance, we aspire to have positive and lasting impact to our community”, he said.
“Nevertheless, we are honored that Orani LGU and local DILG recognized what we are doing in our barangay and bestowed us the SGLG award. It will serve as an inspiration to us “, Dela Cruz added.
Orani Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Cristy Blanco said they were inspired to cascade to the barangay level the SGLG incentive program being conferred nationwide by DILG.
She said they created award indicators patterned from the assessment for the national level of the DILG.
Aside from Mulawin, 5 other Orani villages got the award. The town has 29 barangays.
