Various government agencies dealing on regulations of environmental projects urged local government units to strictly comply with environmental laws. In a zoom meeting initiated by Kilusan Bataan, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) disclosed it issued a letter of denial to Cargon Mining Corporation which was reportedly planning to undertake reclamation projects in Limay and Mariveles towns.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded LGUs on fisheries compliance assessment (FISHCA) to protect fishing waters. It asked the LGUs to settle fishing issues with the fisherfolks before venturing into bigger problem. Other concerned sectors also asked the Cargon Mining to clearly identify the scope of its projects in Limay and Mariveles towns.
