MV Awareness wins in PIACM 2018 float parade

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) won the Best Advocacy Float Award with its sky blue ship called ‘MV Awareness’ that flaunted not only its unique ship design but most importantly its advocacies in fighting Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

One of their movements is the Hi V Club (read as Hi-five) that is participated in by student advocates whose primary goal is to bring awareness, prevention, and counseling to the students.
On the other hand, the Municipality of Samal won 2nd Place with the repainted body of float they used in Day of Valor, accentuated by gigantic foam-made hands that hold medicines, and graves below a large red ribbon symbolizing dominance against HIV/AIDS.
The Department of Health-Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH-TRC) Bataan won the third spot for their advocacy float highlighted by a transparent chamber with a hanging electric chair helmet.

The parade spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office started at Earthfield Center in Enrique Garcia Sr. Avenue and ended at La Vista Inland Resort, Roman Expressway.
