BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) sponsored a communication training for energy information officers in Central Luzon.
About 30 communication personnel of electric cooperatives and companies from Bataan, Pampanga and Zambales attended the Basic Power Orientation and Social Media Communication Seminar held recently in Subic Park Hotel, said NGCP Regional Corporate Communication Officer Fely Francisco in an interview here.
Representatives of Peninsula Electric Cooperative, the sole electricity distributor in Bataan, joined the seminar.
“We want to help energy information officers better communicate with the electric consuming public”, Francisco added, whose area of assignment includes Bataan and Zambales provinces.
“The training also aims to help them to always provide timely and accurate information to the public”, she also said.
“NGCP and PIA recognize the important role of electric cooperatives in our daily lives. We aim to bring them closer to the people and the people closer to them through fast and reliable communication”, said seminar resource speaker Philippine Information Agency Bataan manager JM Garcia.
He reported participants in the seminar actively engaged in discussions on improving connections with the public.
The electric transmission company is also working closely with the local media for effective power reporting and accurate information dissemination. NGCP Bataan Energy Press Corps was also formed recently.
