NGCP warns against transmission pilferage

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – NGCP warned pilferage of transmission lines and tower parts causes interruption in the delivery of electricity to consumers, and is a criminal offense.
The transmision company issued the warning amidst a recent case of tower pilferage in Bicol region.
NGCP Corporate Communication Officer Fely Francisco in an interview here said penalty for violation of RA 7832 (Anti-Pilferage Law) is reclusion temporal or imprisonment of 12 to 20 years and/or payment of fine ranging from P50,000 to P100,000.
She appealed for support from the public by reporting theft and pilferage of NGCP facilities to their hotline 0917-TIPNGCP (8476427) o 0918-TIPNGCP (8476427).
She cited the pilferage in Bicol was reported to NGCP by a concerned citizen.
