PAEPI empowers extensionists

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors Inc. (PAEPI) will be continuously conducting trainings and other activities to empower extensionists.

“Extension program implementors need continuous trainings to become effective. The important  role of   extensionists is fast becoming recognized in the society”, said  Dr. Hermogenes Paguia,   Chairperson of PAEPI National Board of Directors during the recent conduct of Regional Training on Capability Building for Extension Program  in  Isabela State University (ISA), Echague, Isabela.

“Researches and other studies to become useful must be brought down to communities and that’s where extension workers play an active role”, Paguia explained who is also the Bataan Peninsula State University Director for Research Development.

“Researchers and extension workers must go together and this is the reason why we train the latter”, he said.

He said a Magna Carta for Extension Workers is being pushed in Congress. “Time will come that this would become a law”, he pointed out.

“We intend to empower extensionists in the country through our organization”, said Dr. Pedrita Medrano, PAEPI National President and ISA Director for Extension.

“We laud the commitment of Paguia who come all the way from Bataan to attend the activity in Isabela State University”, said Medrano during the training.

BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Dr. Rudy Flores joined Paguia in attending the PAEPI training activity in Isabela.
