BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the Single Voice of Business in the Phil., in one of its management meetings with the Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (BACCII), officials headed by its president, Mr. Orly dela Peña, had as guest speaker, Mr. Edwin Glindro, PCCI Secretariat held recently at the Crown Royale Hotel, this City.
Said meeting, aimed at propelling chamber advocacies on entrepreneurial resilience, sustainable economic development and inclusive business growth with the trending opportunity on the PCCI theme, ” Giant Steps to Prosperity” in relevance to President Duterte’s Build, Build, Build program is now pushing business economic growth and development via the Public- Private Partnership (PPP) as a model.
Glindro explained the policies governing the PPP scheme, PPP programs are contractual arrangement entered into by governments, whether national or local, with the private sector providing financing, designing, implementing, and operating infrastructure facilities and services with the developmental objective on focusing reduced costs, faster implementation, improved services and possible generation of additional revenues.
As the discussion prospered, Glindro was amazed to know from BACCII officers, that Bataan as one of the fastest growing investment hubs in Central Luzon, has a lot to share in terms of PPP programs, that Bataan has already created the Public-Private Partnership office headed by Atty. Joey Angeles, that some of the PPP schemes are the on-going Bataan Government Center or the Bunker, the Ferry services, FAB infrastructures and the latest, E-Buses and the Monorail transit of which a MoU was recently signed between the Provincial Government of Bataan and the BYD (Build Your Dream) Corporation of China.
Towards the end of the meeting, BACCII officers has been re-energized with the conviction on the importance of a strong organization, to have a more effective chamber management planning with the vision of promoting investment that will open opportunities which will create inclusive growth for businessmen.
