PNP Balanga City conceptualizes “Takip- banga”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – To curb criminality in this city, Balanga City Chief of Police Lt. Col. Edward Guevarra, bared a new program dubbed as “Takip-banga” which they believe will be an effective tool in solving any act or series of acts that will constitute a crime.
Under the Takip – banga concept, all the 14 entry and exit points in Balanga City, including the newly constructed roads from the city proper to the Capitol Compound and out to the Roman superhighway will be guarded.

During an interview in a radio program, Col. Guevarra explained further that all these entry/exit points will be manned by PNP personnel, barangay tanods and anti- criminality force multipliers complete with handheld radios, cellphones and other communication devices for fast and immediate action.
To stress his point, Col. Guevarra cited an example: if a robbery, hold-up, murder or any crime has been committed in Balanga City, they can easily send a communication to close all the entry/exit points and serve as a checkpoint on all passing vehicles and and all other means of transportation that may have been used by the suspects.

Aside from the Takip-banga, Col. Guevarra said that they are also reactivating the PNP bicycle patrol so as to be visible and felt in all barangays and the university belt.
They are also coming up with a 2-day seminar come July to be attended by all barangay justice committee members and barangay tanods to clarify which cases fall under “kasong pang barangay and kasong pang pulis”; train the barangay first responders especially in handcuffing suspects, and discuss other pertinent topics, hence they will be inviting competent lecturers.
Though the ratio now of their PNP personnel is 1:2000 which is far beyond the ideal ratio of 1:500, Col Guevarra said that the PNP members of Balanga City are doing their best for the welfare of the people.
