CAMP CIRILO TOLENTINO – Bataan PNP Provincial Director Benjie Silo, in a presscon yesterday said that the provincial command has put all men in uniform on full alert as the 75th commemoration of the “Araw ng KAgitingan” draws nearer, with no less than President Rodrigo Duterte, topping the list of officials, as Guest of Honor.
Sr. Supt. Silo said that as early as April 2, they have been going around to see if all checkpoints are in place especially on April 9, wherein as early as 4am, 600 policemen will be deployed around Mt. Samat, aside from augmentation forces and personnel from other headquarters.
Silo advised all people intending to witness the program to be at Mt. Samat earlier or before 7am because at exactly 7am, there will be no more movement, as they will not allow anybody even policemen to go up to Mt. Samat.
For those who have no cars, Silo said that the Provincial Government will be providing free transportation for the event. Buses will be waiting at the Provincial Capitol compound from 4am to 5am to bring people to Mt. Samat.
Likewise, Sr. Supt. Silo cleared that as of their last meeting with the Tourism Office, DPWH, DOH and others, only three (3) car passes for the vehicles of Governor Abet Garcia, Mayor Alice Pizarro of Pilar and Bishop Ruperto Santos were approved by the Presidential Security Group, while for other officials, they can just leave their cars at the foot of Mt. Samat where they will be picked up by aircon buses in going up to Mt. Samat.
Staff of the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) will also be on standby in case of emergency, PD Silo added.
