PILAR, Bataan – Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Office holds Information Dissemination on Civil Registration to High School Students in celebration of the 2017 Civil Registration Month held in Orani National High School (ONHS), Orani, Bataan on February 15, 2017.
The theme of this year’s civil registration month is “Pilipinong Rehistrado, Matatag na Kinabukasan ay Sigurado”.
PSA Bataan Chief Statistical Specialist Ledesma L. Morante discussed the basic knowledge in civil registration and the laws related to it. Registration Officer II Maria Rosario C. Dela Rosa further, presented the result of the 2015 Census of Population. Municipal Civil Registrar of Orani Virgilio S. Dionisio delivered the welcome address. The ONHS teaching staff showed support to the activity by guiding students and actively participating in the discussion.
The Civil Registration Month is an annual celebration pursuant to Proclamation 682 signed by President Corazon C. Aquino on January 28, 1991, to remind citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents.
During the month-long celebration, PSA was visible in all the activities undertaken by the Local Civil Registry Office such as mass wedding activities of the Municipality of Orion held at the PREX Hall of Orion on February 22; and mobile registration activities of the Municipality of Pilar at Barangay Balut 2, Panilao, Wakas South, Balut 1 and Alauli from February 11 to 28, 2017.
