PSA Bataan Celebrates 2019 Civil Registration Month

PILAR, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Office enjoins public and private agencies to celebrate 2019 Civil Registration Month (2019 CRM) with the theme “Inclusive and Responsive CRVS (Civil Registration and Vital Statistics): Working Smarter through Innovation” this February 2019.
PSA Bataan officially started the month long activities during 2019 CRM Provincial Opening Ceremonies and Workshop on Basic Infographics to PSA staff. Chief Statistical Specialist Ledesma L. Morante delivered the message of this year’s CRM theme encouraging the staff to be innovative and creative in presenting statistics through special releases and infographics. Supervising Statistical Specialist Francisco P. Corpuz served as the moderator of the Workshop. The highlight of the activity was the presentation of infographics on vital statistics of the province.
The Barangay Secretaries in the Municipality of Pilar gathered for the Training on Civil Registration to Barangay Secretaries at PSA Bataan Conference Room on February 29, 2019. Registration Officer Maria Rosario C. Dela Rosa who was the activity’s resource speaker emphasized the role of barangay secretaries in civil registration. The activity includes fun games that tested their knowledge in civil registration.
PSA Bataan also conducted the 2nd Provincial Poster Making Contest held at PSA Bataan Conference Room on February 20, 2019 where Samal National High School (Annex) Student Stanley Franz D. Gatchalian, of Municipality of Samal emerged as champion. Mr. Gatchalian bested nine other official contestants of each municipality in the province.
The 2019 CRM Closing Ceremony and Training on Court Decrees and Legal Instruments to PSA, Local Civil Registry Offices Staff and Stakeholders closes the month activities initiated by PSA Bataan held at the Plaza Hotel Balanga City, Bataan on February 26, 2019. Registration Officer Aurelia Alido of PSA Civil Registration and Support Services, Quezon City served as the guest resource speaker. This was attended by PSA staff and City/Municipal Civil Registrars of Bataan and their staff.
The celebration of Civil Registration Month is observed every February, Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682, signed by then President Corazon Aquino on 28 January 1991.
