PSA Bataan celebrates 3rd Anniversary

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan Provincial Statistical Office celebrates its 3^rd Anniversary, with the theme “Syn3rgy” through various activities that promote team spirit.

One of the highlights of this year’s celebration is a Tree Planting Activity to an adopted barangay as part of its corporate social responsibility at Barangay Tuyo, Balanga City, Bataan on September 13, 2016.

Ms. Ledesma L. Morante, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Bataan led her staff in planting more than 50 mahogany seedlings. Ms. Melanie Anne M. Mendoza, Barangay Councilor of Tuyo Balanga City was person in-charge during the activity.

Earlier that day, PSA conducted another corporate social responsibility activity – mass feeding at Bahay Puso Apostolate Foundation, Tuyo Balanga City Bataan which provided snacks to the elderly. PSA staff also attended a thanksgiving mass at St Joseph Cathedral, Balanga City, Bataan before the PSA Anniversary General Assembly held at PSA Conference Room which culminated that day long activities.

Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. In this year’s anniversary, PSA deliberately misspelled it as Syn3rgy to emphasize 3 years of the agency.

Synergy was also best depicted in PSA official tarpaulin which bears, 1) ants working together to carry a key, 2) people in sync to operate a tandem bicycle, 3) cheerleading team in a pyramid formation and 4) people assembling the puzzle pieces.

PSA is the major statistical agency responsible in collecting, compiling, classifying, producing, publishing, and disseminating general-purpose statistics as mandated by Republic Act 10625. Beyond that, PSA extends the commitment in undertaking activities that foster social responsibility and promote development and good governance of the employees.

PSA is formerly known as National Statistics Office which merged with Bureau of Agriculture and Statistics, Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics and National Statistical and Coordination Board by virtue of Statistical Act of 2013.
