PSA Bataan Convened POPCEN 2015 Census Boards

CITY of BALANGA – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan concluded the convening of Provincial and City/Municipal Census Coordinating Boards (PCCB and C/MCCB) of the province, 1 city and 11 municipalities for the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015) at City Government of Balanga held at Balanga City Hall on June 18, 2015.

PSA Bataan received warm response from most of the Municipal Mayors who signified support to POPCEN 2015 during the separate convening meetings at the Municipal Hall of Abucay (April 24, 2015), Bagac (May 4, 2015), Dinalupihan (May 25, 2015), Hermosa (May 11, 2015), Limay (April 30, 2015), Mariveles (May 4, 2015), Morong (May 13, 2015), Orani (May 4, 2015), Orion (May 12, 2015), Pilar (May 11, 2015) and Samal (May 8, 2015). The convening of PCCB was held at the Provincial Capitol on April 30, 2015.

The Provincial Governor shall become the chairperson of the PCCB, while City/Municipal Mayors shall head the C/MCCBs. The objective of the Census board is to ensure the successful conduct of the census through the support and cooperation of the citizenry by providing them complete and correct information.

Pursuant to PSA Board Resolution 7-9, series of 2014, PSA Bataan was task to establish Provincial and City/Municipal Census Coordinating board in assessing the needs of the PSA in the province in terms of facilities, security, publicity and other logistics. The highlights of the meetings were mostly focused on the assistance they will provide to improve enumeration and the recruitment procedures.

LGUs likewise pledged to give office space for census staff in the municipality and the training venues for the census enumerators.

PSA, designated as the major statistical to take an inventory of the population in the entire Philippines as provided for in Republic Act 10625, shall undertake the 2015 POPCEN starting August 10, 2015.
