CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan planted mangroves at the Balanga City Nature and Wetland Park (BCNWP) in Tortugas, for its 3rd quarterly visit last June 25, 2015, at 7:30AM. Barangay Tortugas is the adopted barangay of PSA Bataan for this year’s corporate social responsibility program.
“Kasama nyo po kami sa pagtatanim” Isagani Cercado, Chief Tanod, welcomed PSA Bataan in the activity. PSA staff reciprocated the statement by saying, this activity as an expression of our partnership with your barangay in growing mangroves in the area. Chief Cercado also showed the PSA staff the grown mangroves which they planted during their first visit in December and second visit in March.
PSO Ledesma L. Morante led her PSA staff in planting around 70 mangrove seedlings in the mangrove area. The PSA staff on the other hand gladly obliged to participate in the activity to help in the conservation of the mangroves.
The mangrove planting activity was made possible with the support of Barangay Chairman Victor A. Baluyot Jr. PSA coordinates with Jeneth R. Din, VAWC Officer with every activity the office holds in the barangay.
PSA, designated as the major statistical agency to take an inventory of the population in the entire Philippines as provided for in Republic Act 10625. Beyond that, PSA extends the commitment in undertaking activities that foster social responsibility and promote development and good governance of the employees.
Apparently, PSA shall undertake the POPCEN 2015 starting August 10, 2015.
