PILAR, BATAAN – The Provincial Veterinarian Office (PVO) under the leadership of Dr. Alberto Venturina distributed 40 heads of cattle and 10 carabaos to selected farmers in this town during the traditional flag raising ceremony held at the Municipal Hall last Monday, November 12.
Governor Abet Garcia, Mayor Alice Pizarro, and other local government officials led the animal dispersal.
In her short message, Mayor Pizarro thanked the Provincial Government of Bataan and the PVO for including the farmers of Pilar among the beneficiaries of the said project. Pizarro gave her commitment that they will help the PVO in monitoring the status of the animals issued to the farmers to ensure that they are well been taken care of.
Governor Abet on the other hand, said that this project is part of the “Strategic Initiative” of the PVO, to lower the inflation rate in our province, specifically by stabilizing the price of cattle and carabao meat and other meat products.
For his part, Dr. Venturina, advised the beneficiaries to take care of the animals entrusted to them and assured them that every now and then, a staff from PVO visit them to monitor the health status of the animals.
