Samal Mayor Aida Macalinao is toying with the idea of putting up a radio system for students to enhance their distanCE learning while there is still the dreaded Corona virus.
Macalinao said the radio will broadcast lessons for students living in more than six- kilometer radius within the municipality of Samal. The mayor explained a radio frequency of an FM station will be utilized to broadcast lessons emanating from a school where teachers prepare learning materials.

“The students only need to have a transistor radio from which they can pick up broadcast lessons prepared by teachers trained in broadcasting,” Macalinao said.
In other schools like the Magsaysay National High School in Barangay Magsaysay, Dinalupihan town, a group of teachers headed by school principal Aida Capili put up 99.3 FM station where students learn from the radio broadcast over the program called “Teachers On Air.”
Macalinao said if possible, the municipal government may tap the services of some local media people engaged in broadcasting to impart some technical advice and tips on radio broadcasting.
